Faith in the face of MS

MS and our story are making it to the East Coast!

We spent nearly 45 minutes on the telephone last Monday evening with Paul Kretchmer, producer of the WIHS Journal (104.9 FM) radio program for the Christian radio station based in Middletown, Conn.

He had contacted us to follow up on the news release we recently distributed about our book, Despite MS, to Spite MS.

While Jennifer and I spent most of the time with Paul discussing our experiences and perspectives with the disease we share, he asked questions that presented the opportunity to talk about one of the most important elements that helps us in moving forward with MS: our faith.

We have written about our Christian faith here in our blog as well as in our book, and we are touched that our upcoming radio interview will include our candid conversation about its importance in our life together.

Paul titled our conversation, “Living with MS,” and it is going to air in two parts this week.

The signal for WIHS reaches from Springfield, Mass., to Long Island, New York, and it can be streamed online here.

The two-part series will air at 3:15 a.m., 12:13 p.m. and 5:49 p.m. ET this Wednesday and Thursday, July 25 and 26.

We are looking forward to hearing what Paul developed for his program. As with our writing and speaking efforts, we hope our story on WIHS will help others to emotionally, mentally and spiritually stay a step ahead of the challenges they’re facing in their lives.

We hope you can catch one of the broadcasts and that you’ll follow up with us to let us know what helps you in your dealings with this disease.

  1. I just found your website today, and look forward to reading more about your experiences. I just wanted to tell you that the things that encouraged me the most right off the bat was looking at the list of recent posts and seeing these two together

    MS be damned

I laughed because I feel those 2 issues are both true and central and yet if you just look at it on the surface, seem like they shouldn’t fit together.

Thanks for your honesty and your stories. I look forward to getting to know you a bit more through your blog.

(I hope you are okay with this, but I am going to mention those posts on my site – with a link to yours of course). For some reason, it just makes me happy to see my feelings in writing.

    Best Care to You,
    Karen
