Put yourself at the top of your list

It often seems that life can’t get any busier.

Then it proves you wrong.

When dealing with everything, from the daily routines of work to shopping, paying bills and taking care of household chores, how can you fit in any fun time with family and friends and concentrate on your self-care?

Maximizing your productivity and taking care of you all starts with making a list.

This is why we’ve made “Make Lists” our self-care challenge to you this month.

We have found that we feel less anxious when we make to-do lists for things such as items to buy at the grocery store, blogs we have to write and other things we have to accomplish.

Having items written on a list helps us to clear our heads, organize our thoughts and improve our focus. We see exactly what needs to be done and can feel energized when we cross things off our lists.

We aren’t the only ones seeing this. Research and articles have shown that making a list will help you to be more productive and organized. Heck, even Santa Claus keeps a list and checks it twice!

Keep track of your progress by visiting healthstorylines.com to set up your free account. Then download the free Health Storylines app and check out its tools such as “To Do List” in its main menu or “My Journal” to help you track your lists.

And don’t forget to share how you are adding variety to your life by posting photos to our Facebook or Twitter and use #selfcareMVMT

  1. Lists do make you feel like you’ve got more of a handle on every thing. I’ve always used lists, as my memory is shocking! Lowen @ livingpositivelywithdisability.com

    • Thanks for checking in, Lowen! We’re so glad to hear that you agree with the power of making lists 🙂 We hope this essay (and others here) helps you to move forward. Have you had a chance to download the Health Storylines app? It’s helped us tremendously!
