Hi Dan and Jennifer - I was glad to find your website. My wife was finally correctly diagnosed with relapsing remitting MS in 2004 at age 43. Once she was diagnosed, she could pinpoint her first MS attack at age 17. She is now no longer able to work.

It looks like that I may have either MS or Parkinson’s. I will have my first extensive evaluation this week. I had a bad car accident 10 years ago, and have had 3 cervical spine surgeries, with most neurological symptoms on the left side. I had other vague symptoms that seemed to go away after the surgeries, but would come back.

I recently had what I thought were old symptoms returning, plus some new ones. I went back and saw my neursurgeon, and had another MRI and CT-Scan. After checking everything out he said “you make a very interesing patient, of course you never want a doctor saying that.” Bad news was, my cervical spine structure looked good, no new disc or stenosis problems, which leaves neurological disease.

So, the mix of symptoms could be PD or MS, but the symptoms lean more towards MS. Now onto MRI’s of the brain, complete spine, muscle biopsies, etc.

I told my wife, we just need to laugh about this, we could probably end up writing a book and going on Oprah. If it’s MS, then we could also coordinate our rebif shots for the same night.
